The default grip levels cause the wheel to bounce left and right because they're too grippy.
These handlings have reduced grip to realistic levels, and are essential for playing with a wheel.

Latest changelog (Most recent, includes all previous changelogs)
5.5.0
This is a fairly big update, mostly because it completely revamps the force feedback model. It now uses traction data from the wheels to provide force feedback, which is very accurate, removes a number of options you need to configure and should feel more natural overall, and much more detailed.
A downside of this detail exists for custom add-on maps: If they're low quality, this can be felt through the steering wheel, but this may only be noticeable for higher-end wheels, which should have options to blend and filter out such noise.
Following is a full overview of the changes in this update:
Overhaul force feedback (again):
* FFB is now based on slip angle of each wheel
* FFB takes weight transfer/tyre loads in account now
* FFB scales with terrain grip levels
* Includes general response curve visualization in FFB setup
* Response normalized for excessive fTractionCurve values GTA uses normally
* (can be disabled/made linear to feel more difference)
* Fix intermittent FFB loss for Fanatec wheels after alt-tabbing
* Fix script crash on trying to call unavailable FFB effect
Most prominent FFB settings (SATFactor, MaxSpeed, Gamma) are now obsolete for
ground vehicles, but are still used in amphibious/flying modes. They're hidden
away in an advanced menu. Back-up your settings if you want to revert!
Other wheel stuff:
* Improve WheelToKeyboard, now maps multiple input devices to any key
* Increase wheel rotation range up to 2880 degrees
* Improve device assignment menu
* Display currently assigned device to a control
* Display whether a device is disconnected or not configured
* Fix ineffective braking when reversing when using wheel
Improve driving assists:
* Use more accurate data sources to determine slip
* Fix brake force not scaled to handling brake force
* Fix TCS UI elements lingering when no throttle applied, if other throttle effects are active
* Fix ABS UI not coming up for GTA's ABS
Misc:
* Add vehicle-optional downshift protection with visual and audio cues
* Add pitch to g-force based camera movement
* Improve wheel bone rotation precision
* Update support for Wanted188's R32
* Allow configuring telemetry endpoint (IP and port in settings_general.ini \[Misc\])
* Allow saving full vehicle config instead of just empty/delta from base config
* Fix steering animation sometimes not loaded on initial game start
Enjoy the update!

Troubleshooting
- ALWAYS include the following (use pastebin or something similar to post the files):
- ManualTransmission/Gears.log
- ManualTransmission/settings_general.ini
- ManualTransmission/settings_wheel.ini
- What kind of inputs (wheel/controller/keyboard) you're using
- What you already tried to do

Known bugs and problems
- Gears.asi doesn't load (in asiloader.log, or indicated otherwise)
- Make sure you're using the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
- Make sure you're using the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
- Wheel force feedback is too responsive or missing
- Install one of the handling mods referred to above
- Check "Anti-dead force" in force feedback menu: Reduce when too responsive, increase when not responsive enough
- Use a LUT and dial down forces.
- Logitech G920 (NOT G29) crashing (Known issue)
- At this moment cause is unknown. Try:
- Remove ScriptHookVDotNet, or
- Use RagePluginHook to launch, or
- Remove/Downgrade/Upgrade G-Hub, or
- Buy another wheel
- Wheel is not detected or doesn't work properly
- Check if your drivers are up to date and the wheel works for other games
- Check if some other program isn't using your wheel (x360ce, etc)
- Check if the wheel is detected in Gears.log (in the ManualTransmission folder)
- If using Steam: Fix: Steam Big Picture > Settings > Controller Settings > Uncheck Generic Gamepad Configuration Support (Found by Kaerali)
- If after the Steam fix, it does show in the log file, but registering an input is still not effective, restart Steam and/or your computer
- Try another USB port!
- Camera doesn't behave as expected in VR
- Developer options -> Compatibility settings -> Disable FPV camera
- No traffic light textures in first person, just faint coronas

Forgot to mention in the 5.5.0 changelog: But along with the FFB overhaul, it makes weird handling files very noticeable. For the best experience, grab a handling with a realistic amount of grip (~1.0 g's, ~1.2 g's if sporty) *and* a realistic slip angle (~10 degrees, less if hard/low profile, more if soft/high profile).
Enjoy the update! Should work great on laser-scanned tracks that don't have gaps or other issues.
ffb stopped working only in gta, steering registers
Hey, just downloaded this mod. Works really good with my Fanatec csw 2.5. But I’m getting 20-30 fps while in the car instead of 120+fps. Can someone tell my why? Thanks
hello,can someone help me?..... i have downloaded the mod correctly.....when i open gta v, i enable the mod and when i press the throttle the car start so fast and i hate this...i press slowly the throttle but it accelerates so fast ....can someone say to me how to resolve this....sorry for the bad english
@MichaelJack i am in the same problem.....i hate this thing but nobody replies to us
@ikt Hello, i love ur manual transmission mod. But i have question i notice when i switch to keyboard my car goes the speed what ive set in the handling file of the car 230 kmph. But when i switch to steering wheel H-shifter the car got capped at 206 kmph. how do i change this that it will have the same speed as controller/ keyboard.
@ikt Please could you update Manual Transmission because it is no longer compatible with Build 2545 on fivem:
Add 'FX_ASI_BUILD 2545 dummy.txt' to the .rc file when building this plugin.
If you are at it, you could add all versions. We will see if it's working or not.
Nevertheless, I'm enjoying this mod, and it works a charm with fivem, just not on versions above GB 2060.
Here are the game builds available to servers: https://docs.fivem.net/docs/server-manual/server-commands/#sv_enforcegamebuild-build
Thank you so much and keep on going!!!
I take back what I said, somehow I overlooked that you did that already. I think I had an older version. I apologize.
Have a great one. See ya.
@ikt
For me my vehicles also starts automatically when I press the throttle or 'w'.. (if I have N or 1+, for R it's ok..)
it was working fine on old version 1.0.2060 (epic), but I updated to 1.0.2612 (epic) & I have issue now..
using with crack to avoid this stupid launcher...
Really uncomfortable behavior, can we fix this, not sure if this is mod issue or new version exe changes some settings..
@ikt do the camera settings saves automatically even for addon vehicles?
@OrangeCat
There's a "h-pattern for automatic" mode where you can basically assign any button to reverse. But it'll need to be held.
@ultimo
I'll look into it when I get back from vacation.
@Matt3005
Please upload Gears.log
@ikt
No rush, I have opened an issue on github just in case. Thank you!
Even though mod's TS tool recognizes my T150 Wheel, I cant set it up in-game as it won't recognize any of the inputs like steering, throttle and brake. Any ides how to fix this, guys? Cheers
I love the mod, but has anyone found a solution to the 920 crash?
guys is there any way to turn on flip, because after installing the mod it turns it off
It doesn't detect my G920 in-game and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I'm wondering if there's a compatibility issue with Windows 11 or the current version of GTA 5 on steam, the version is 1.0.231.0 , if anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it
@ikt Great mod, only issue I have had so far is that when I steer left or right, it is very stiff/heavy and I dont know how to reduce it. I tried to look up the README quickly but haven't found something to help.
@wieczoras Same problem here
please fix it
how to bring steering centering to 0.00, the lowest is 0.9, or is it a glitch that it can't be brought to 0.00
