@HeySlickThatsMe Hey I just wanted to drop in and give a little precaution about that small project you might be developing related to the old gen iron sights of the carbine rifle and assault shotgun. The new gen sights have different height alignment compared to the old ones, so directly taking the assets from the old versions and restoring them might make first person view obstructive. It would be better that you take the new ones and modify them to heavily resemble the old sights.

@Alex106 totally makes sense. Although before closing the conversation, I definitely would suggest taking the next gen iron sights and modifying them to heavily resemble the old gen ones. What I have noticed is that Rockstar not only changed the placement or alignment of the sights in the next gen versions, but they also basically trimmed some of the areas of the iron sights to make them look smaller.

Taking the old gen models themselves and restoring them seems like a very bad idea as you said, because they might actually be obstructive due to alignment differences.

@Alex106 Do you work on weapon fixes or small vanilla edits anymore? Because from what I have seen, the carbine rifle and assault shotgun in the next gen versions has different iron sights compared to the xbox360 and ps3 versions, where the sights are a bit larger and better looking imo. I dunno if you would be able to make those, but it's entirely upto you since it is already a lot of work for to handle big projects like these and gives no time for minor mods.

@HeySlickThatsMe Hey, I don't know if you have seen or noticed this yet, but there used to be (or still is) a mod which was basically a vanilla edit for the SMG MKII, adding the original SMG's stock to the MKII Variant. As far as I know, that mod is quite hold, dateing back to at least 2017 and is still being used frequently in gameplay videos.

I am unable to find the mod anywhere even after a good amount of searching. If you have any info on this or have known for some time, please let me know. Thanks.

Hey mate, I dunno if you will respond or not, but is there any way you can make some of the older versions available? Current one is amazing but Versions like 5.3 had better muzzle flash effects without tracers.

@HeySlickThatsMe Okay then, I think you really shouldn't bother with it and focus on other projects. Before we close this conversation though I can suggest changing up a few parts of the current advnaced rifle like it's grip, sights, stock and barrel to make it look more like the Tavor. Other than that, it is completely upto you.

@HeySlickThatsMe The official page for the gun does state it had a beta version and even shows the model. I am also using an older game version so things might be different on your end.

Have you gone through all the folders containing models, hashes and textures for the game's weapons? It should pretty much be there.

@HeySlickThatsMe Mate I just wanted to tell you that the Advanced Rifle is already a functionng weapon so you won't have to create it entirely from scratch. I researched and found that the beta model of it already exists in the files, but is unfinished and lacking details and some parts like iron sights, decals, logos, etc. If you'll be working on it sometime you can simply design it as a replace weapon for the current advanced rifle.
