Anyone wanting controller support -- get a program called JoytoKey . It allows you to set gamepad buttons or button combos to activate keys on the keyboard.

Use the vanilla traffic option - and if you want to raise population/traffic density, do it through the game's main settings.xml with "CityDensity value=". Go no higher than 1.5. You CAN manually raise the ped population further to around 2x by manually editing the number in the Gameconfig.dat, but DO NOT raise vehicles above vanilla if you want to avoid crashes. Don't worry, it will still be much, much higher than vanilla when combined with the mod.
@lukerodriguez A Two things achieved a crash free-game for me with the current WoV... Get the file mentioned by GensokyoIsReal, BUT make sure you only only use the version with vanilla traffic levels...THEN use the "CityDensity value=" setting in your main Settings.xml if you want to raise traffic and population (go no higher than 1.4 or 1.5, depending on hardware). When combined with WoV, this setting makes a pretty huge difference all by itself. In addition, you CAN manually raise the ped population to around 2x by manually editing the number in the Gameconfig.dat, but DO NOT raise vehicles above vanilla if you want to avoid crashes.
I'm having an issue with Corona.png... It's just a blank black file. When I use it, the traffic lights are blacked out. It doesn't look quite right to switch back to the vanilla one (which is labelled .dds rather .png), but it the lights do become functional again.
