Modyfying update.rpf in /mods folder doesn't work for me at all. So i modified those in /update folder with codewalker and encrypt it with archivefix tool. VisualV starts with this method but randomly crashes with "ERR_GFX_STATE". Before that i tried also chromatix and RealismV and game works them perfectly fine.

After installation, I uninstalled. Apart from a few noteworthy modifications such as dithering, grass reflections or dynamic shadows, the colour scheme of this game was completely spoilt, seemingly based on thousands of photos from Los Angeles. The colour temperature is bad to the point where the sun looks like from the ISS - it's white, making the characters white in the daytime too, everything has too much exposure and no longer looks as good as in Vanilla. The storms look tragic. But then again, it's not surprising when someone with little experience wants to improve the work of the most famous studio that has been developing a game for almost a decade.
