Gunshot Wound 2 (GSW2) turns GTA V's health model into a wound-based realism system for single-player.
Player and NPCs both use the system. Every firefight becomes a tactical survival scenario - manage pain, stop bleeding, and treat trauma or you're done.
Fully configurable via XML. You also can help with localization of GSW2 to other languages in that Google-Sheets.

@gti92, could you send a screenshot how it looks like to discord?
bro,Which configuration-related files you should put in a folder is more concise
@JoyLucien, just move entire GSW2 folder from archive to scripts folder
@SH42913 yes,i know,What I mean is that you should put the configuration in a folder, such as the folder with the same name as the script name, to avoid cluttering the scripts file path
Your mod is great, really solid work, but headshots don't kill straight away – even though I've enabled it properly in the config file. Is there a fix coming, or have I overlooked something ?
@ImNeoFresh, there's a bug when gun damage interpreted as falling damage and in that case it may not kill with headshots
is it broken on enhanced? since I have a error where the script flatlines when I shoot a npc.
@Crazyboy4881, GSW2 was not tested on enchanced, so it may not work there
what should I do if everything goes well for me, but when I shoot a person, they don't die like they don't have a head until I shoot them 20 times?
Hi SH42913,
First of all, thank you for your amazing work on GSW2. It’s an essential part of the survival experience.
However, I am currently running a heavy survival setup (The Remnants v2.7, InfectionX, Exclusion Zone) on a GTA V Legacy build, and I've encountered a critical issue. The ScriptHookVDotNet log is being flooded with thousands of warnings per minute:
[WARNING] Can't detect weapon! Last record
This massive log spam seems to create a 'bottleneck' in script processing, which eventually leads to The Remnants and other AI-heavy scripts crashing due to execution delays. It seems like the weapon detection logic is failing to return a valid ID on certain Legacy configurations or with specific modded peds.
Are you aware of this issue, and is there a planned update to optimize the weapon detection or add an option to disable this specific check in the .ini?
Looking forward to your reply and keep up the great work!"
I'm also getting repeated weapon detection failures. Even using the carbine rifle it fails to detect it despite me using the same weapon that it detected 3 frames earlier. Also having issues with peds surviving 10+ headshots and still getting back up to fight me. I have turned up damage and am using MoreGore, headshots are very hit or miss. Sometimes its an instant kill, sometimes they drop unconscious, sometimes they tank multiple shots. It's a great premise and once all the kinks get worked out I'll be happy to rate it 5 stars
Also having a problem with peds taking multiple shots to the legs and still getting up and running without issue. If I took like 20+ 9mm rounds to the legs I know for sure I wouldn't be able to get up, sprint to cover, and return fire. It seems like damage detection is completely random, some bullets and wounds just don't do anything at all except maybe disorient the person I'm shooting at. I'm playing right now, and I shop an armored LSPD officer twice in the head with a 9mm, and dumped 5 rounds from the carbine rifle into his chest, and put 8 shells of buckshot into his legs. HE STILL GOT UP, WHIPPED ME WITH HIS PISTOL AND SHOT ME IN THE HEAD
@covenetti @Arhipp, currently there's bug that makes GSW treats gun damage as falling damage if you're running game with less than 60 FPS(>20ms per frame), in that case you will not see any hit notifications. I will publish update with fix during this week.
@VelyXCore, please, send your log file with Can't detect weapon to Discord, I will take a look that to identify reason
@SH42913 Im having the same issue as coventti. I shot the peds with multile shotgun ammo to the head. It takes about 8 shots of shotgun to finally kill them.
New update released! Changelog in GSW Discord - https://discord.com/channels/1263842381321732147/1264536701351759964/1474290435986948126
@SH42913 Amazing work on the new update!! Everything is working perfectly, I appreciate you greatly for getting this update out so quickly))
@covenetti, not so quickly, tbh, it takes almost three weeks since 1.0.1 release
@SH42913 Well it was quick for me I've only had the mod for 4 days haha. Good work !!
do you know where I can edit the config to make the blood pools after the npc gets shot in the head smaller?
@ajourian, sure, open Configs/Wounds.xml and remove cs_mich2_blood_head_leak particle entry in BleedingEffects-Penetrating
